In our own words: Festival of Theatre by Young People, for Young People

During this two week festival, the Belgrade will be showcasing some of the best new work by and for young people, made by our own participants and other regional and national groups.

Seven productions from our own Youth and Community groups will explore questions such as:

  • What is the impact of schooling on young people today?
  • How do we experience love throughout our lifetimes
  • What are the connections between perceptions of Islam and radicalisation
  • What makes boys and girls different
  • How do we remember?

We’ll be working with artists from companies around the UK such as Frantic Assembly, the Royal Shakespeare Company, Vamos Theatre, Gateway Studio Project, curious directive, Theatre Absolute, Ludic Rooms and Highly Sprung.

The two weeks will culminate in an action packed weekend of performances, workshops, talks and interactive events from 17 – 21 July.

The Highly Sprung Physical Fellowship will take place as part of the July Festival from 13 – 16 July.
